The Grand Forks Winter Race Series consists of three athletic events in taking place on consecutive weekends in February of 2012. First up is the Frozen Feat, put on by the Red River Runners on Feb 11th. Next up is UND Cycling Club's Bikecicle race on Feb 18th, followed by the ColdAvenger Extreme North Dakota Iceman Triathlon, presented by Due North and put on by the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals.

Frozen feat
- 5 K
- 5 points first place
- 4 points second place
- 3 points third place
- 2 points fourth place
- 1 point fifth place
- 10 K
- 10 points first place
- 8 points second place
- 6 points third place
- 4 points fourth place
- 2 points fifth place
- Participation: 3 points
Bikecicle
- Short course: same as 5K
- Long course: same as 10 K
- Participation: 3 points
Coldavenger's Iceman Tri
- Relay team: same as 5 K
- Solo racers: Same as 10 K
- Participation: 4 points
The number of possible points is 40.
Example - someone who does all three events will automatically have 10 points (3 each for Frozen Feat and Bikecicle, and 4 for Iceman). If they come in second in the 5K, 3rd in the Long Course bike, and 3rd in the relay category of Iceman, they will have 4, 6, and 3 points for their places in each event, respectively, for a total of 23 points. The male and female with the highest point totals for the series will be dubbed Red River Valley's fitness King and Queen of winter and receive the appropriate accolades and prizes (details forthcoming).
